Job summary

RSM Australia is looking for a proactive accounting professional to join our team. In this dynamic role you’ll go beyond the numbers, analysing financial data and preparing high‑quality reports that give clients real clarity and confidence in their financial position.

You’ll manage records across assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations, supporting accuracy and transparency across activities.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
• Business or Commerce degree with an Accounting major
• Commenced (or intention to commence) CA or equivalent qualification

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements in line with accounting standards
• Apply knowledge of client, firm and industry trends and current issues
• Prepare clear, well‑structured work papers evidencing work performed
• Review financial statements and management accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Identify and assist in resolving accounting issues
• Apply basic tax compliance procedures
• Assist with tax planning activities for clients
• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Complete required regulatory forms accurately and on time
• Meet lodgment deadlines in line with lodgment program requirements
