Job summary

AAR Consulting Group in Blacktown is seeking two Security Technicians to support NSW Government CCTV and electronic security systems. The roles are field-based and based in Blacktown, with travel across NSW to investigate faults, troubleshoot systems and assist with commissioning.

You will work with internal technicians and external service providers, on-call about once per month, and contribute to reliable security delivery across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Security Licence – Class 2C is essential.
• Experience with CCTV/IP cameras and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Undertake field-based maintenance, troubleshooting and fault resolution across CCTV and electronic security systems.
• Diagnose and resolve IP camera, network connectivity and recording system issues.

• Attend school sites across metropolitan and regional NSW as required.
• Participate in an on-call roster, approximately once per month.

Security Technician – CCTV & Electronic Security 2 Contract Opportunities | NSW Government | Blacktown | $550–$600 per day

We are seeking two hands-on Security Technicians to join an established government security team responsible for maintaining and supporting electronic security infrastructure across NSW public schools.
Working from Blacktown, these positions offer a combination of field-based technical work and operational support. You will attend school sites across NSW to investigate faults, troubleshoot systems, assist with commissioning and work alongside internal technicians and external service providers.
These roles would suit practical technicians who enjoy working independently, resolving technical issues and supporting the delivery of reliable security systems.
Key Responsibilities

• Undertake field-based maintenance, troubleshooting and fault resolution across CCTV and electronic security systems.
• Diagnose and resolve IP camera, network connectivity and recording system issues.
• Assist with installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of security equipment.
• Provide technical support and assistance to other security technicians.
• Work collaboratively with contractors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
• Attend school sites across metropolitan and regional NSW as required.
• Participate in an on-call roster, currently approximately once per month.

Skills and Experience

• Current NSW Security Licence – Class 2C (essential).
• Demonstrated experience in electronic security systems.
• Strong practical knowledge of CCTV, IP cameras and network infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining and commissioning security systems.
• Understanding of access control systems and associated technologies.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to undertake regional travel and occasional overnight stays.

Desirable:

• Experience with Inner Range Integriti security systems.
• Inner Range or comparable electronic security platform certifications.
• Experience with Gallagher, Tecom or similar integrated security platforms.
• Experience supporting large-scale government, education or commercial security environments.
