Job summary

Wirrigan Group is seeking an experienced Security Technician to maintain, diagnose and repair a range of electronic security systems across NSW public schools. The role is field-based in Blacktown and involves working with alarms, CCTV, video surveillance and access control.

You will collaborate with schools, internal teams and external contractors to ensure systems operate reliably, with strong focus on safety and audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarms and access control.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with knowledge of security technologies and related software.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to assist schools and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and documentation skills, with ability to manage priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electronic security systems, including alarms, CCTV, video surveillance and access control systems.
• Respond to technical enquiries from schools and stakeholders, providing timely advice, guidance and practical solutions.
• Assist with the servicing, maintenance and commissioning of security systems, working with external security contractors where required.
• Maintain accurate service records, technical documentation and security system data to support reporting and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to improve service delivery and maintain knowledge of emerging security technologies.
