Job summary

Security 1, a Canberra-based electronic security and communications company, is seeking a skilled technician to join our growing team on a long-term basis. We deliver CCTV, alarms, and structured cabling solutions across commercial sites and residential projects.

The role requires at least two years' industry experience, familiarity with major brands, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified overseas candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in security/electronics.
• Experience with CCTV, alarms and access control preferred.
• Comfort reading wiring diagrams and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and service electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control.
• Conduct fault-finding, repairs, and system testing.
• Install and certify structured cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6/6A) and related equipment.
• Read wiring diagrams, building plans, and technical documents.
• Deliver system demonstrations and support to clients.
• Maintain records and comply with Work Health & Safety regulations.
