Job summary

Herne's Security is seeking a reliable Patrol Driver to join our local team in the Northern Rivers region. You will undertake overnight patrols from our South Lismore HQ, collecting the patrol vehicle and site keys before heading out to monitor client sites across Lismore, Casino, Ballina, Evans Head, Byron Bay and surrounds.

Ideal candidates are punctual, professional, and capable of independent night work, with a valid driver's licence and security licence.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's Licence.
• Valid Security Licence.
• Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain one).
• Knowledge of Lismore, Casino, Ballina and Byron Bay areas preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Overnight patrol shifts, approximately 4:30pm–6:00am, patrolling assigned client sites.
• Collect patrol vehicle and site keys from South Lismore HQ at shift start.
• Conduct scheduled vehicle patrols across Lismore, Casino, Ballina, Evans Head, Byron Bay and surrounds.
• Check, secure and report on client premises using the Smart Patrol App.
• Respond to alarm activations and duress calls as required.
• Represent Herne's Security professionally at every site, every time.

The Role

Overnight patrol shifts, shifts could be anywhere between 4:30pm – 6:00am

Shift starts and ends at our South Lismore HQ, where you'll collect the patrol vehicle and site keys before heading out

Conducting scheduled vehicle patrols across client sites covering Lismore, Casino, Ballina, Evans Head, Byron Bay and surrounds

Checking, securing and reporting on client premises using our in‑house Smart Patrol App

Responding to alarm activations and duress calls as required

Representing Herne's Security professionally at every site, every time

What We're Looking For

Punctual and dependable — if you say you'll be there, you're there

Takes genuine pride in doing the job properly, not just ticking boxes

Comfortable working independently overnight

Flexible and easygoing when runs or schedules change at short notice

Strong communication skills and a calm, professional manner

Physically fit and able to respond quickly when needed

Able to commute to South Lismore for shift start/finish

Requirements

Valid Driver's Licence
