Job summary

secVision Networks is seeking a Control Room Operator / Virtual Guard for their SOC in North Parramatta. You will receive, assess and coordinate responses to security incidents across Australia, maintaining calm and analytical decision-making under pressure.

The role involves incident management, virtual guarding, and rapid communication with field teams. A NSW Security Licence and strong communication skills are required, with a 24/7 rotating roster and onsite duties in Sydney region.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NSW Security Licence (Class 1E) and have working rights in Australia.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to active-listen and extract key details.
• Proficient with multiple computer systems and monitoring software in fast-paced environments.
• Willing to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
• Experience with Patriot systems (or similar alarm monitoring software) is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage incoming calls regarding security incidents and nationwide operational matters.
• Proactively monitor CCTV feeds, multiple security systems, and communication channels.
• Quickly evaluate incidents to determine escalation to emergency services, clients, or internal stakeholders.
• Maintain clear, regular communication with field personnel and operational teams.
• Log incident data and prepare detailed incident reports.
• Strictly follow established security procedures, SOPs and response protocols.

About the Role

Join our Security Operations Centre (SOC) based in North Parramatta as a Control Room Operator / Virtual Guard. In this role, you will be the central heartbeat of our operations - receiving, assessing, and coordinating responses to security incidents reported from sites across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Incident Management: Receive and manage incoming calls regarding security incidents and nationwide operational matters.

Virtual Guarding & Monitoring: Proactively monitor CCTV feeds, multiple security systems, and communication channels simultaneously.

Critical Assessment: Quickly evaluate incidents to determine if escalation to emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance), clients, or internal stakeholders is required.

Communication & Dispatch: Maintain clear, regular communication with field personnel and operational teams.

Reporting: Accurately log incident data within internal systems and prepare clear, detailed incident reports.

Compliance: Strictly follow established security procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and response protocols.

About You

Licensed & Eligible: Must hold a valid NSW Security Licence (Class 1E) and have full Australian working rights.

Communication Pro: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to active-listen and extract key details over the phone.

Tech-Savvy: High confidence using multiple computer systems, monitors, and applications simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Sharp Judgement: Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Roster Flexibility: This is a casual / part-time position operating on a 24/7 rotating roster. You must be available to work a mix of weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
