Job summary

Downer has an opportunity for Security Guards to join our workforce and support the effective management of properties across Stockland’s national portfolio. Multiple sites across the Sydney area require roster flexibility, including rotating shifts, weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

You’ll monitor premises, control access, respond to incidents, and maintain records while working with CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.

Qualifications

• Certificate II (mandatory) or Certificate III in Security (desirable).
• Current First Aid Certificate with CPR (mandatory).
• Working with Children’s Check (mandatory).
• Experience monitoring CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and concerns.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with a good understanding of safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor premises and conduct regular patrols to ensure safety and security.
• Control site access and manage visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide general assistance and maintain a visible, approachable presence.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records, follow procedures, and liaise with relevant services when required.
