Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead cyber security architecture across the organisation. You will shape security strategies, establish governance and provide architectural guidance across cloud, applications, networks, identity and data platforms.

With a focus on secure-by-design solutions, you’ll collaborate with Technology and business stakeholders to strengthen security maturity and protect critical services supporting vulnerable Australians.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in IT, Cyber Security, Risk Management or related discipline.
• Industry certification in CISSP, CCSP or SABSA.
• Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA or Zachman.
• At least 7 years' experience in a Security Architect or similar role.
• Experience with risk and security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cyber security architecture strategy across cloud, network, applications, data, IAM and IGA domains.
• Develop and maintain the security architecture roadmap aligned with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
• Represent Cyber Security within architecture governance forums and contribute to technology decision-making.
• Establish and lead security architecture review processes across projects and initiatives.
• Design and maintain security reference architectures, standards and blueprints for key platforms and services.
• Lead threat modelling and security risk assessments using MITRE ATT&CK and STRIDE.
• Provide security architecture guidance to project and operational teams across the organisation.
• Support the ongoing improvement of security architecture practices, standards and governance.

We're looking for an experienced Security Architect to join our Technology team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, helping strengthen and mature our cyber security capability across the organisation.

Your opportunity

As our Security Architect, you'll lead the direction of security architecture across Anglicare's technology environment, ensuring secure-by-design principles are embedded into technology solutions and initiatives.

Working closely with Technology and business stakeholders, you'll help shape security strategies, establish governance practices, and provide architectural guidance across cloud, applications, networks, identity and data platforms.

Most importantly, your work will help protect the systems and services that support some of the community's most vulnerable people.

Key responsibilities

With integrity and resilience, you will:

• Lead the cyber security architecture strategy across cloud, network, applications, data, identity and access management (IAM), and identity governance and administration (IGA) domains.
• Develop and maintain the security architecture roadmap, aligning security initiatives with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
• Represent Cyber Security within architecture governance forums and contribute to technology decision-making.
• Establish and lead security architecture review processes across projects and initiatives.
• Design and maintain security reference architectures, standards and blueprints for key platforms and services.
• Lead threat modelling and security risk assessments using recognised frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and STRIDE.
• Provide security architecture guidance to project and operational teams across the organisation.
• Support the ongoing improvement of security architecture practices, standards and governance.

About you

You are an experienced security professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build effective working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience delivering end-to-end security architecture across complex technology environments.
• Expert-level capability in at least two specialist security domains, such as:
• Identity Governance & Administration (IGA)
• Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Zero Trust Architecture
• Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
• Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver governance, risk and security outcomes.
• A pragmatic and collaborative approach to balancing security requirements with business needs.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Risk Management or a related discipline.
• Industry certification in CISSP, CCSP or SABSA.
• Experience working with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA or Zachman.
• At least 7 years' experience in a Security Architect or similar cyber security architecture role.
• Demonstrated experience conducting security architecture maturity assessments and improvement initiatives.
• Experience operating within large and complex organisational environments.
• Strong knowledge of risk and security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001 and recognised control frameworks.
• Exposure to Australian regulatory and compliance requirements such as APRA CPS 234 and OAIC obligations will be highly regarded.
• Proven ability to work independently while partnering effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
