Job summary

Koto Dining in Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle is seeking enthusiastic Section Waiters / Supervisor to join our front of house team. This hands-on role requires you to run your own section, while also supporting the wider team and senior staff to ensure each service runs smoothly.

You’ll bring hospitality passion, attention to detail and strong communication, with RSA and Australian working rights. Japanese dining knowledge is a plus, but training is provided and there are opportunities to

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Section Waiter, Supervisor or in a similar senior front of house role.
• Confidence managing a section and delivering attentive, professional service.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support junior members of the front of house team.
• Good food and beverage knowledge, with an interest in developing further knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sake and wine.
• High level of attention to detail and presentation.
• Ability to stay calm, organised and professional during busy services.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• RSA and working rights in Australia.

Job description

Koto Dining, located in Canberra’s prestigious Parliamentary Triangle, is looking for enthusiastic Section Waiters / Supervisor to join our front of house team.

This is a hands-on service role for someone who is confident running their own section while also taking on additional responsibility during service. You’ll work closely with the Restaurant Manager and senior team to maintain Koto’s high service standards, support the wider front of house team and help ensure each service runs smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, has strong attention to detail and is comfortable taking the lead when required.

Japanese dining experience is an advantage, but not essential. A strong service background, professionalism and the right attitude are most important.
