Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) is recruiting a Section Manager for a major transport infrastructure project in South East Queensland. The role will lead delivery of a significant civil or station section on greenfield scope, owning safety, cost, program and quality across the section, and coordinating with subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of construction experience, a degree in civil engineering or construction management, and a proven track record

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline.
• 12+ years' construction experience.
• Leadership of a significant section or package on a $100m+ project.
• Civil, structures, stations, rail, roads or utilities delivery background.
• Demonstrated ownership of safety, cost, program, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Own safety, cost, schedule and quality for assigned section or package.
• Lead and manage subcontractor teams and key supply chain partners.
• Develop and implement section execution plans and work strategies.
• Manage section budgets, cash flow and cost control.
• Monitor section schedule performance and manage critical-path activities.
• Coordinate with adjacent work groups and manage interface risks.
• Support safe work planning and incident response.
• Ensure compliance with project quality and standards requirements.
• Provide section reports and escalation of emerging risks to project leadership.
• Support commissioning and handover activities for the section.

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex civil and station works across greenfield environments. The head contractor is seeking a Section Manager to lead delivery of a significant civil or station section on the greenfield scope. You'll own safety, cost, program and quality across the section, manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate with adjacent work fronts — a strategic leadership role requiring extensive construction experience and commercial awareness in a complex project environment.

What We\'re Looking For

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline (equivalent delivery experience may be acceptable)
• 12+ years\' construction experience
• Leadership of a significant section or package on a $100m+ project
• Civil, structures, stations, rail, roads or utilities delivery background
• Demonstrated ownership of safety, cost, program, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Greenfield logistics and bulk works experience highly regarded
• 2+ years\' average tenure per employer with at least one section leadership role held for 3+ years
• Current construction induction card
• Commercial and contractual awareness for package performance management
• Strong leadership and team management skills
