Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) is recruiting a Graduate Engineer to support site engineering and project delivery on a major transport infrastructure project in South East Queensland. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or near completion
• Transcript or expected completion date required
• Construction placements or site exposure are highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Support site engineers with work pack preparation and construction planning
• Assist with drawing management, specification interpretation and technical queries
• Participate in field inspections, testing and quality control activities
• Help maintain site records, progress documentation and as-built information
• Support pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety inductions
• Assist with commissioning and handover documentation
• Learn and apply construction methodology and sequencing principles
• Support survey and dimensional control activities
• Engage with supervisors and subcontractors to understand construction practice
• Contribute to project assurance and compliance activities

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex brownfield construction works in and around operational transport assets. The head contractor is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support site engineering and project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your engineering career on a major, complex infrastructure project with experienced mentorship and exposure to high-stakes brownfield construction delivery in a regulated transport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support site engineers with work pack preparation and construction planning

What We’re Looking For

• Completed or near-completed bachelor's degree in an civil engineering discipline relevant to the project
• Transcript or expected completion date required
• Construction placements, internships or site exposure (any scale) highly regarded
• Up to two years' post-graduate experience acceptable
• Basic ability to interpret drawings, use spreadsheets and communicate technical information
• Current or obtainable construction induction card and driver's licence
• Willingness to work on site and occasionally outside standard hours
• Strong learning orientation and eagerness to develop construction expertise
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
