Townsville Catholic Education is seeking a passionate Secondary Science Teacher to join Southern Cross Catholic College, Townsville, with essential tertiary qualifications and QCT registration. The ability to teach Senior Chemistry and/or Senior Biology would be highly advantageous.

This full-time fixed-term role runs from 18 January 2027 to 3 December 2027, at a salary ($86,600 - $124,725) plus super, in a supportive Catholic education community.

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher with tertiary qualifications and registration (or eligibility) with the Queensland College of Teachers. The ability to teach Senior Chemistry and/or Senior Biology would be highly advantageous.

This is a full time, fixed termposition commening on 18 January 2027and concludes on3 December 2027.

You’ll join a supportive team of committed teachers who work together in partnership with the parent community to create the best possible learning experience for every student. Your understanding of contemporary teaching practices, and your ability to adapt and support a diverse range of learners, will help every child feel included, valued, and confident.

In your classroom, you’ll spark curiosity and a love of learning by designing engaging lessons, setting clear expectations, and continually reflecting on your practice to keep improving. You’ll use a range of assessment tools to understand each student’s progress, celebrate their growth, and give meaningful feedback that helps them thrive.
