Portside Christian College is seeking a Secondary Maths/Science Teacher for a 0.7–1.0 FTE contract with a view to permanency. The successful applicant should be a committed Christian, actively fellowship in their local church, and align with the College's Statement of Faith.

The role requires delivering Maths and Science programs within the Australian Curriculum using UbD framework, and contributing to a restorative, values-driven school culture.

Formación

• South Australian Teacher Registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Bachelor of Education qualification (minimum) with teaching experience desirable.
• South Australian Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid qualification – BELS First Aid training (HLTAID010).
• RRHAN-EC Training.

Secondary Maths / Science Teacher at Portside Christian College. This is a 0.7-1.0 FTE contract with a view to ongoing permanency. The successful applicant will be a committed Christian who is in regular fellowship in their local church and is in agreement with and practices the College's Statement of Faith.

Key responsibilities

• Commit to the College Vision, Purpose, Values and Statement of Faith.
• Act in accordance with all College policies and procedures, including the Staff Code of Conduct, and the Staff Handbook.
• Develop and maintain positive, restorative and collaborative relationships with staff, students and parents.
• Actively contribute to the Christian life of the College community.
• Attend the annual College Retreat (compulsory) and other meetings, functions and extra-curricular activities as required.
• Participate in the College's ongoing Professional Learning opportunities.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement aligned with the Portside Christian College philosophy of education and Standards of Professional Practice for Teachers.
• Plan and implement teaching and learning programs using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework from a biblical perspective aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Model and promote best practice in pedagogy, teaching and learning that inspires learners.
• Promote a restorative team and learning culture using KARR framework of kindness, agency, respect and responsiveness.

About you

• South Australian Teacher Registration, or be eligible to obtain registration.
• A Bachelor of Education qualification (minimum) with previous teaching experience highly desirable.
• South Australian Government Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid qualification – BELS First Aid training (HLTAID010) at a minimum.
• Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to create an engaged, respectful and collaborative classroom culture.
• Ability to use data to extend the learning of each student.
