Job summary

Portside Christian College in Adelaide seeks a committed Christian teacher for a 0.7–1.0 FTE contract with a view to permanency. The successful applicant will be in regular fellowship with a local church and align with the College’s Statement of Faith.

The role requires SA Teacher Registration (or eligibility), a Bachelor of Education, First Aid, RRHAN-EC, and a collaborative, data-informed approach to planning using Understanding by Design (UbD) within the Australian Curriculum.

Qualifications

• South Australian Teacher Registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Bachelor of Education qualification (minimum).
• South Australian Government Working with Children Check.
• First Aid qualification – HLTAID010 at a minimum.
• RRHAN-EC Training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to use data to extend the learning of each student.

Responsibilities

• Commit to the College Vision, Purpose, Values and Statement of Faith.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students and parents.
• Attend the annual College Retreat (compulsory) and other meetings and activities.
• Participate in ongoing Professional Learning opportunities.
• Plan and implement teaching and learning programs using the UbD framework from a biblical perspective aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Model and promote best practice in pedagogy, teaching and learning.
• Promote a restorative team and learning culture using the KARR framework.
