Job summary

Australia Post in Kalgoorlie is seeking casual Seasonal Van Drivers to support our peak period. You will join a supportive team delivering for Australians and gain hands-on experience with a iconic national brand.

You will drop off and pick up mail, potentially collect from Street Posting Boxes and Delivery Centres, and perform daily vehicle safety checks. A current Australian driver’s licence and ability to lift up to 16 kg are required.

Qualifications

• Full Australian driver's licence or in the final year of your probationary licence.
• Able to lift up to 16 kg of Mail and Parcels regularly.
• Must pass mandatory and practical driving assessment.
• Meet safe working load limit of 130 kg or less.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up mail and parcel items to and from our customers.
• Sometimes pick up mail from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices and Delivery Centres.
• Unload mail articles from vans and sort into letters and parcels including express posts.
• Complete your own daily vehicle safety check.

From the warehouse floor to the open road, our seasonal team keep everything moving. Join us during our busiest time of the year and be part of a supportive team delivering for every Australian. Seasonal team members generally commence across October and November and depending on parcel volume, assisting us to deliver until around Christmas.

You’ll be paid

• Seasonal Van Drivers (21 years or older) are paid $35.83 per hour, including casual loading, plus 12% superannuation
• Junior rates apply to applicants under 21 years old
• Some roles may also attract penalty rates for overtime, evening, and weekend work

You’ll be

• Required to drop off and pick up mail and parcel items to and from our customers
• Sometimes required to pick up mail from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices and Delivery Centres
• Unloading mail articles from vans and manually sorting them into small or large letters and parcels including express posts
• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check

About you

• You hold a full Australian driver’s licence or in the final year of your probationary licence
• You’ll successfully pass our mandatory and practical driving assessment
• You have a great memory, excellent attention to detail and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
• You'll need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less
