Job summary

Australia Post is offering seasonal casual driver roles across Redbank and surrounding suburbs. You will deliver mail and parcels, perform safety checks, and handle pickups from various locations while meeting time-sensitive schedules.

Training and a pathway into broader transport roles are available, with a focus on safety and reliability. Ideal candidates will hold a full Australian driver’s licence, pass a driving assessment, and be able to lift up to 16 kg regularly.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full Australian driver’s licence or be in the final year of your probationary licence.
• Must successfully pass our mandatory and practical driving assessment.
• Ability to lift up to 16 kg regularly.
• Some roles may attract penalty rates for overtime, evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up mail and parcel items to and from customers.
• Sometimes pick up mail from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices and Delivery Centres.
• Unload mail articles from vans and sort into letters and parcels including express posts.
• Complete your daily vehicle safety check.

We're now hiring for our seasonal period. Seasonal team members generally commence across October and November and depending on parcel volume, assisting us to deliver until around Christmas.

You’ll be paid

• Seasonal Van Drivers (21 years or older) are paid $40.12 per hour, including casual loading, plus 12% superannuation
• Junior rates apply to applicants under 21 years old
• Some roles may also attract penalty rates for overtime, evening, and weekend work

You’ll be

• Required to drop off and pick up mail and parcel items to and from our customers
• Sometimes required to pick up mail from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices and Delivery Centres
• Unloading mail articles from vans and manually sorting them into small or large letters and parcels including express posts
• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check

About you

• You hold a full Australian driver’s licence or in the final year of your probationary licence
• You’ll successfully pass our mandatory and practical driving assessment
• You have a great memory, excellent attention to detail and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
• You'll need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less
