Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney is seeking a Scrub Scout Registered Nurse for a permanent full-time/part-time position in the Sydney L3 Theatres. You will deliver scrub and scout nursing care across surgical specialties and maintain a safe operating theatre environment.

Requirements include current AHPRA registration and recent Scrub/Scout experience, particularly in ophthalmic or plastics. Nurses with exceptional clinical and organisational skills who can thrive in a fast-paced team will

About the role

• Provide high-quality Scrub and Scout nursing care across a range of surgical specialties.
• Maintain a safe and efficient operating theatre environment.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles.
• Ensure surgical instruments, equipment and consumables are prepared and available for procedures.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and patient safety standards.

About you

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Recent experience in a Scrub/Scout nursing role especially in ophthalmic/plastics
• Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
• Flexibility to work across a variety of surgical specialties.
