Job summary

MacKillop Catholic Regional College in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Science educator to lead our Science program as Learning Leader: Science (POL 3). Permanent position commencing Term 1, 2027, with tenure through January 2028 across Years 7–12.

The Learning Leader will guide curriculum, pedagogy and assessment, oversee laboratory operations, and build teacher capacity through collaboration and reflective practice, all within our Catholic, Josephite tradition.

Qualifications

• expertise in contemporary Science education including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth Sciences, with excellent knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
• demonstrated capacity to mentor science educators, lead professional learning, foster collaboration and build a culture of continuous improvement
• experience with laboratory operations and safety, including risk assessments, WHS compliance, chemical management, PPE, equipment and maintenance
• demonstrated capacity to use student learning data, assessment evidence and teacher feedback to inform curriculum planning and improve outcomes
• capacity to lead and build respectful relationships with students, staff and families and foster an inclusive learning environment
• commitment to Catholic education and the Josephite tradition, with the ability to contribute to an inclusive, faith-filled community
• welcoming culture based on Gospel Values and the Josephite tradition
