Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a full-time School Psychologist for Walgett Community College - High School. The role focuses on counselling, psychological assessment, and supporting student wellbeing as part of the school counselling service.

The successful candidate will work across primary and high school settings, receive supervision, and be part of a multidisciplinary team with opportunities for professional development and registration support by the department.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and commitment to the Aboriginal Education Policy and DEI strategies.
• Psychology registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (General or Provisional).
• Current Working with Children Check clearance (NSW).
• Driver's licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students individually and in groups.
• Implements Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
• Collaborates with principals and staff to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Assists students with complex behavioural needs and supports families and schools.
• Conducts cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural assessments and reports results.
