Job summary

Currajong State School in Townsville is seeking a dynamic Business Manager to support day-to-day operations, lead business services, and partner with school leadership to deliver efficient admin, finance, and facilities management.

You will supervise support staff, assist with budgeting and payroll, manage procurement, and build strong networks with staff and the wider school community.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver business services in a complex school environment.
• Strong administrative skills with reporting, correspondence and issue research.
• Experience supervising support staff, rosters, timesheets and recruitment.
• Budgeting, financial management, expenditure monitoring and procurement.
• Experience managing facilities, contractor coordination and asset maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver business services independently within a complex school environment, interpreting information and adapting processes as required.
• Provide comprehensive administrative support, including preparing reports and correspondence, researching issues, seeking specialist advice and recommending solutions.
• Lead the day-to-day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance, coordinating rosters and relief, approving timesheets and leave, and supporting recruitment, induction and training.
• Support the Principal with budgeting and financial management, including monitoring expenditure, payroll and purchasing, preparing financial reports and providing advice on financial matters in line with legislation and policy.
• Oversee school facilities, grounds, resources and equipment, including maintenance, repairs, contractors and associated budgets, while building effective networks with Business Managers, staff and community representatives and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills when managing sensitive situations.
