Job summary

Holy Cross School in Trinity Park, Cairns, is seeking School Learning Officers to support teachers in Teaching & Learning. The role is term-time, fixed-term until 21 January 2028, 22.25 hours per week (four days).

Salary is SOF Level 2, from $32.50 to $33.20 gross per hour plus 12.75% superannuation. This position involves enabling differentiated learning, supervising students, and assisting with classroom setup and administration.

Qualifications

• Assist teachers to support student learning in line with learning plans.
• Collaborate with teaching teams across departments.
• Provide supervision and support to students inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to teachers to support student learning aligning with learning plans.
• Collaborate with teaching teams and staff from multiple departments.
• Provide supervision to students during activities, excursions and school events.
• Assist students with specific learning needs including writing and reading, with feedback to teachers.
• Keep accurate records of student work and progress for effective information flow.
• Assist in maintaining safe, well-organized classroom and learning environments.
• Support in administrative tasks and preparation of teaching resources.
