Job summary

Holy Cross School in Cairns is seeking a School Learning Officer to maximise educational outcomes by assisting teachers in delivering learning programs. This role involves both small group and 1:1 student support, collaboration with teams, and ensuring students engage in learning activities with appropriate differentiation.

The position supports a Catholic education ethos and provides opportunities to work with diverse learners in a dynamic school environment, contributing to inclusive education

Qualifications

• Provide assistance to teachers to optimize student learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with teaching teams and staff across departments.
• Support student engagement and wellbeing in classroom and school activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to teachers to support student learning aligned with learning plans.
• Collaborate with teaching teams and staff from multiple departments.
• Provide supervision and support to students inside and outside the classroom, including during excursions.
• Assist students with specific learning needs including writing and reading, providing feedback to teachers.
• Keep accurate records of student work and progress and communicate with staff to ensure flow of information.
