Job summary

Pomona Kindergarten & Early Years Learning is seeking an experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team on a part-time basis, working school hours 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, five days a week at Pomona QLD 4568. The role ensures nutritious, balanced meals are prepared safely for our young learners, with meals supplied daily by Kids Gourmet Foods.

The successful candidate will oversee food preparation, kitchen operations and health and safety compliance, with induction training in Week 1 and ongoing

Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook or kitchen supervisor in hospitality or early childhood education.
• Current Food Handling Certificate desired but can be undertaken during induction.
• Working With Children Check.
• Gecko Mandatory Child Safety Training – Modules 1 and 2.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health regulations for early childhood services.
• Proficiency in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
• Excellent organisational and time management in a busy kitchen and learning environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with educators and families.
• Commitment to a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for children and staff.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic early childhood setting.
• Consistency and reliability.
• November 20th start date for induction and on-site training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for early years children, adhering to dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised kitchen environment.
• Oversee food storage, inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies.
• Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and report faults promptly.
• Follow all relevant food handling protocols and centre policies.
• Communicate with educators regarding dietary needs and allergies.
• Ensure all food preparation supports wellbeing and development of children.
• Maintain records of food preparation and kitchen activities.
