Job summary

Oxanda Education is seeking a Kitchen Hand to support the Centre Chef in providing nutritious meals for children aged 0 to 6 years. The role supports daily preparation, dietary needs, and kitchen hygiene within a welcoming early learning environment.

You will contribute to cooking sessions, engage with staff and families, and help maintain a safe kitchen. The position offers consistent hours Monday to Friday and aligns with our commitment to healthy eating in early education.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational qualification in commercial cookery.
• Food safety certificates required.
• Experience cooking for children 0–6 years desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily nutritious meals including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children 0 to 6 years.
• Prepare meals to meet dietary requirements and allergies.
• Follow nutrition policy and guidelines.
• Engage with educators, children and families to build community.
• Run cooking programs for children as needed.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic kitchen per centre policies.
• Support the Centre Chef with kitchen tasks.
