Job summary

Flagstone State Community College, part of the Queensland Government, is seeking a committed Schools Officer, Grounds in Logan to maintain vibrant outdoor spaces and support school operations. You will mow, water, weed and manage trees and shrubs while safely operating grounds equipment.

The role requires adherence to WHS guidelines, safe handling of chemicals, accurate ordering of supplies, and timely repairs to facilities and irrigation systems.

Qualifications

• Grounds and garden maintenance duties including mowing, watering and weeding.
• Equipment maintenance for mowers, brush cutters, tractors and servicing.
• WHS compliance—safe storage/handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel.

Responsibilities

• Grounds and garden maintenance: mow and maintain ovals, lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs.
• Equipment maintenance for mowers, brush cutters and tractors; arrange servicing.
• WH&S: maintain a safe work environment and handle chemicals safely.
• Rubbish removal: coordinate disposal of rubbish as required.
• Repairs and maintenance: repair fences, paving, gates and irrigation systems.
• Supplies and materials: order/collect groundskeeping and cleaning supplies.
• Ground improvements: undertake projects to enhance grounds and outdoor areas.
• Sports facility maintenance: maintain courts and pitches.
• Agricultural support: assist with duties in the field laboratory.
