Job summary

Eight-Mile Plains State School is seeking a reliable, practical and proactive Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our support team. This hands-on role maintains safe, attractive school grounds and facilities to support daily operations and enhance learning for students, staff and the wider community.

The role involves performing day-to-day tasks with guidance for non-routine duties and a focus on safety, WHS compliance and effective coordination with staff, students and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage general school duties, stores, mail, equipment and events.
• Maintain grounds, gardens, ovals and sporting facilities.
• Complete repairs, maintenance and minor works.
• Operate and maintain grounds and maintenance equipment.
• Support security, building access and banking duties.
• Liaise with staff, students, contractors and tradespeople.
• Identify safety hazards and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain records and ensure WHS and departmental compliance.
• Support grounds improvement, planning and budgeting.
