Job summary

Golden Beach State School on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an enthusiastic Schools Officer, Grounds & Facilities to join our team full‑time. The role focuses on maintaining and improving extensive grounds and facilities, including mowing, gardens, and safe, well‑presented environments for students and staff.

You will perform a range of day‑to‑day tasks with supervision for non‑routine duties, contributing to a safe and welcoming school setting.

Qualifications

Experience in maintaining school grounds and facilities.
Ability to perform day-to-day grounds maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
Commitment to WHS and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

General duties: Mail, deliveries, printing, room setup, moving furniture, stores and stock management.
Security: Maintain security systems, lock/unlock buildings and deposit school funds.
Cleaning & waste: Clear drains/gutters, collect waste, manage rubbish and assist with major events.
WHS: Maintain a safe workplace, safely handle chemicals/fuel and maintain equipment records.
Maintenance: Repair and maintain buildings, furniture, equipment, locks, windows and swimming pools (where applicable).
Communication: Liaise with school management, staff, students, tradespeople and contractors.
Grounds: Maintain ovals, lawns, gardens and sporting facilities; mow, water, weed and fertilise.
Equipment: Maintain and service mowers, brush cutters, tractors and other grounds equipment.
Agriculture: Assist in the field laboratory where required.
