Job summary

Shire of Campaspe is seeking reliable individuals to join our team as School Crossing Supervisors in Kyabram, Echuca and nearby locations across Campaspe Shire. You will help children, families and pedestrians cross roads safely near schools, while upholding road safety practices.

The role is casual with flexible hours, full training, and ongoing support. A valid licence and checks are required, with the ability to obtain clearances as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of road traffic regulations and rules.
• A valid Driver’s Licence.
• A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
• Satisfactory National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and vehicles at school crossings and pedestrian lights.
• Reinforce the Stop, Look, Listen and Think road safety message to children using the crossing.
• Ensure flags are positioned and displayed correctly while operating the crossing.
• Ensure traffic flow is not unduly disrupted by pedestrians crossing the road, especially school buses.
• Ensure all vehicles are stationary before allowing pedestrians access to the crossing.
• Ensure that all pedestrians have crossed the roadway and are completely behind the red line before vacating the crossing.

Location: Kyabram and Echuca (plus other locations across the Campaspe Shire)
Remuneration: $42.40 per hour + superannuation
