Job summary

Whitehorse City Council is seeking casual School Crossing Supervisors to help children and pedestrians cross roads safely at established crossings and traffic lights within the Whitehorse municipality.

Shifts are flexible, uniforms and training are provided, and you will be supported through a full training program before starting. You will need a valid driver's licence or reliable transport and a positive, safety-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Have a current driver’s licence and vehicle or reliable transport.
• Ability to follow road safety procedures and have a strong focus on surroundings.
• Attend shifts at short notice and be prepared for early calls from 7am on school days.
• Willing to work in varying weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively in English with people of all ages.
• Undertake eLearning when necessary and complete pre-employment medical, police and working with children checks.
• Willing to install a timesheet mobile application on your smartphone.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing a safe and effective means for school-aged children and pedestrians to cross at crossings and traffic lights within Whitehorse.
• Join a motivated, enthusiastic team across the municipality and participate in training before starting.
• Wear uniforms and use provided equipment; follow guidance to ensure safety.

The role

Our School Crossing Supervisors assist in providing a safe and effective means for school-aged children and other pedestrians to cross the road at established school crossings and traffic lights within the Whitehorse municipality.

• Be willing to install a timesheet mobile application on your smart phone. We can help you install the application during training
