Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Counsellor to join Great Lakes College Tuncurry Campus. You will provide counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning and wellbeing, complementing teachers’ work to improve outcomes.

Based at Tuncurry Campus, you will work with primary and high school students across ages, participate in supervision, and collaborate with school communities and external agencies in a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment and reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with schools, families and external agencies to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external partners to manage mental health needs.
• Engage in supervision and group peer supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Travel between worksites as required and participate in professional development.
