Job summary

NSW Department of Education invites applications for a School Counsellor at Great Lakes College Tuncurry Campus. The role focuses on counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning and wellbeing, across years 7–10 and across campuses where possible.

Based at Tuncurry Campus, you will work within a multidisciplinary team, receive regular supervision, and engage in ongoing professional development and registration support. A competitive remuneration package applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with school communities and external partners to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment for students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Work across primary and high school aged students within a multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to enhance student outcomes.
• Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development as part of the district school counselling team.
