Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Counsellor based at Oakville Public School to provide counselling and psychological assessment, supporting student learning and wellbeing across primary and high school ages. The role involves collaboration with teachers and families, supervision, and opportunities for professional growth within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must be registered or provisionally registered psychologists (or eligible for registration) with the Psychology Board

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions addressing the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes, including diverse backgrounds.
• Registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Willingness and ability to travel between worksites with a valid licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment for students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with school communities and external agencies as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Travel between worksites as required.
