Language Disorder Australia is seeking an Allied Health Assistant at Mancel College in Brisbane to support students with Language Disorder. The role involves working with Speech Pathologists and other professionals to assist therapy programs and classroom activities, helping students build confidence and skills.

The 12-week contract offers potential extension, with a focus on inclusive education and student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistance or current studies in related discipline.
• Experience supporting children in educational or allied health settings.
• Genuine passion for helping students with Language Disorder and co-occurring disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to follow therapy programs under supervision of Allied Health Professionals.
• Proactive, organised and adaptable to a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of allied health programs designed by Speech Pathologists and others.
• Assist students to develop communication, social, learning and independence skills.
• Prepare resources, equipment and learning materials for programs.
• Collaborate with teachers and allied health staff to promote participation.
• Observe, record and feedback student progress for planning and review.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
