Job summary

Bialik College in Melbourne invites an experienced Audio-Visual Technician to support school productions, assemblies and events. Reporting to Technology Services Manager, you will set up, operate and maintain AV systems across performances, ensuring reliable sound, lighting and visuals.

You will mentor students, prepare documentation, and collaborate with staff to deliver polished presentations. The role requires a degree in live production or equivalent, 2 years' experience, and WWC compliance;

Qualifications

• Degree in live production and events or related qualification (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years' experience as AV technician or related role.
• Experience maintaining and repairing AV equipment in a school.
• Knowledge of AV and computer equipment setup, operation and maintenance in schools.
• Current Working with Children Check and willingness to obtain Police Check.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours for events.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain audio, lighting, visual and other technical equipment for school productions and throughout the College.
• Manage AV presentations for all main assemblies including the set-up of microphones, computer presentations and lighting.
• Act as the college videographer to edit and produce short clips working with both staff and students.
• Develop and maintain documentation, procedures and user guides for the safe operation, maintenance and use of audio-visual equipment and systems.
• Mentor students with an interest in audio-visual technology under the supervision of teaching staff.
• Oversee the installation of new audio-visual equipment.
• Provide hardware and software 'Help Desk' support for college staff and students.
