Job summary

SEEK is seeking an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to support maintenance, shutdown and project works in an industrial setting. The role is site-based, hands-on and requires leading crews through scaffold erection, alteration and dismantling with safety at the forefront.

You will work with site supervisors and maintenance teams to ensure scaffolds meet work demands, including around conveyors and plant, while managing risks and inspections on complex arrangements.

Qualifications

• Extensive industrial scaffolding experience required.
• Advanced scaffolding knowledge and supervision capability.
• Strong understanding of working-at-heights and risk controls.
• Experience leading scaffold crews in maintenance/shutdown/project environments.
• Ability to interpret job requirements and plan safe scaffold access.

Responsibilities

• Assess work areas and determine scaffold access requirements.
• Plan and supervise scaffold builds for maintenance, shutdown and projects.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to support ongoing maintenance, shutdown and project works within an industrial environment.

This is a practical, site-based supervisory role suited to someone with strong hands‑on scaffolding experience who can assess upcoming work, determine safe and effective scaffold access requirements, and lead crews through the erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolding.

Works will vary across maintenance and project activities and may include providing scaffold access around conveyors, chutes, plant, equipment and other restricted or elevated work areas.

You will work closely with site supervisors, maintenance crews and other trades to ensure scaffolds are built safely, efficiently and to suit the work being performed.

Key responsibilities

Assessing work areas and determining practical scaffold and access requirements

Planning and supervising scaffold builds for maintenance, shutdown and project activities

Supervising the erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolding

Leading and supporting scaffold crews onsite

Managing advanced and complex scaffold arrangements where required

Ensuring scaffolds are erected safely and in accordance with applicable requirements

Identifying working‑at‑heights, access, dropped‑object and interaction risks

Completing and coordinating scaffold inspections, handovers and tagging

Working around operating plant, conveyors, chutes and other industrial equipment

Participating in pre‑starts, JHAs/JSEAs, SWMS and site risk assessments

Coordinating with site supervisors and other trades to ensure scaffold access suits the work being undertaken

Identifying scaffold arrangements that require additional engineering or technical review

Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity throughout scaffold activities

About you

SA – Advanced Scaffolding High Risk Work Licence – Essential

Extensive industrial scaffolding experience

Previous experience as a Scaffolding Supervisor or Leading Hand

Strong practical knowledge of advanced and complex scaffolding

Experience supervising scaffold crews in maintenance, shutdown or project environments

Experience working around operating plant and industrial equipment

Strong understanding of working‑at‑heights and fall‑risk controls

Good working knowledge of SWMS, JHAs/JSEAs and site risk assessments

Ability to interpret job requirements and determine safe, practical scaffold access solutions

Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11

Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety would be advantageous but is not essential
