Job summary

Department of Education Victoria is seeking a Head Start SBAT Support Officer to join the Jobs, Skills and Pathways team in Melbourne. You will provide tailored case-management support to Year 10–12 students exploring or undertaking SBATs, pairing learners with suitable employers and ensuring safe, productive work experiences.

The role emphasizes data-informed practice, collaboration with schools and training providers, and alignment with Education State commitments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage cases and monitor student needs.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders to support student outcomes.
• High-level interpersonal skills.
• Experience with data and digital literacy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Victorian government school contacts to promote Head Start SBATs.
• Maintain Head Start policy compliance and high-quality data practices.
• Case-manage SBAT-ready students and coordinate with employers for SBAT pairing.
• Assess readiness of students to undertake an SBAT and provide tailored support.
• Collaborate with JSPM and HDC to support SBAT delivery and school engagement.
• Contribute to timely reporting and address safety and program risks.
