Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Manufacturing Tooling & Test Equipment Design Engineer to develop tooling and fixtures for PCBA, battery packs, and assembly testing for satellite systems.

You will translate requirements into robust, scalable tooling, mentor juniors, and drive production readiness while improving throughput, quality, and safety across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing mechanical fixtures, tooling or test setups for development or production.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD with Siemens NX and GD&T principles.
• Hands-on fabrication, prototyping, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience with Vibe, Shock testing and other mechanical tests.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements and specifications; design components using CAD and simulate to optimize cost and reliability.
• Lead projects by breaking systems into sub‑components and coordinating parallel efforts.
• Create comprehensive test plans and FMEA to ensure product reliability.
• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to select materials and drive production readiness.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews to improve delivery and safety.
