Job summary

CBS Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to lead end-to-end SAP implementations and transformation projects in Australia, working across Sydney and Brisbane. You will collaborate with customers, functional consultants, technical teams and global stakeholders to deliver on time, within scope and budget.

The role requires 6–10 years of PM experience with SAP, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of PM experience including SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Strong leadership of SAP S/4HANA implementations from initiation through go-live.
• Solid understanding of SAP lifecycles: design, configuration, integration, data migration, cutover.
• Proven ability to manage scope, timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams including SAP consultants, tech, and external partners.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing skills.
• Familiar with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.
• Knowledge of PM tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet.
• Excellent English communication, presentation and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, independent, entrepreneurial mindset with ownership.
• Willingness to travel; able to work across Australia, APAC and global teams.
• Australian PR or citizenship preferred; travel as required.

• Support pre-sales activities and project estimations where required.

Job Overview: We are currently looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to join our team in Australia and lead SAP implementation and transformation projects, working closely with customers, functional consultants, technical teams and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, transformation and rollout projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards.
• Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management and overall project governance.
• Work closely with customers and business stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, deliverables and success criteria.
• Coordinate cross-functional SAP teams, including functional consultants, technical specialists, integration teams and business stakeholders.
• Manage project scope, milestones, dependencies, change requests, issues and escalations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee project activities across design, build, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live and post-go‑live support.
• Facilitate project steering committee meetings, workshops, status reviews and stakeholder discussions.
• Monitor project performance and provide regular progress reports, risk assessments and status updates to senior management and customers.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration between Australian customers, APAC teams and the global cbs organisation.
• Identify delivery risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement, delivery excellence and adherence to project management methodologies and governance standards.
• Support pre‑sales activities, project estimations, proposals and customer engagements where required.

Qualifications and Skills

• 6-10 years of relevant project management experience, including experience managing SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Strong experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, rollout or transformation projects from initiation through go‑live.
• Good understanding of SAP project lifecycles, including business process design, configuration, integration, testing, data migration, cutover and deployment.
• Proven ability to manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams comprising SAP functional consultants, technical teams, business users and external partners.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing skills, with confidence engaging business leaders and senior management.
• Experience with project governance, reporting, RAID management, change control and steering committee presentations.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.
• Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with strong presentation, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive consulting mindset, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and drive project outcomes.
• Collaborative and entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to work across Australia, APAC and global teams.
• A degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
• Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship is required, along with willingness to travel as required.
