Job summary

cbs APAC is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to lead SAP implementation and transformation projects in Australia, working with customers, functional consultants and global stakeholders.

Location includes Sydney and Brisbane with regional travel; the role requires ownership, entrepreneurial mindset and a collaborative approach across APAC and global teams.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of project management experience including SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Strong experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementations from initiation to go-live.
• Understanding of SAP project lifecycles and integration/testing activities.
• Proven ability to manage scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks and stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.

We are currently looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to join our team in Australia and lead SAP implementation and transformation projects, working closely with customers, functional consultants, technical teams and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, transformation and rollout projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards.
• Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management and overall project governance.
• Work closely with customers and business stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, deliverables and success criteria.
• Coordinate cross-functional SAP teams, including functional consultants, technical specialists, integration teams and business stakeholders.
• Manage project scope, milestones, dependencies, change requests, issues and escalations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee project activities across design, build, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live and post-go-live support.
• Facilitate project steering committee meetings, workshops, status reviews and stakeholder discussions.
• Monitor project performance and provide regular progress reports, risk assessments and status updates to senior management and customers.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration between Australian customers, APAC teams and the global cbs organisation.
• Identify delivery risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement, delivery excellence and adherence to project management methodologies and governance standards.
• Support pre-sales activities, project estimations, proposals and customer engagements where required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 6–10 years of relevant project management experience, including experience managing SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Strong experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, rollout or transformation projects from initiation through go-live.
• Good understanding of SAP project lifecycles, including business process design, configuration, integration, testing, data migration, cutover and deployment.
• Proven ability to manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams comprising SAP functional consultants, technical teams, business users and external partners.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing skills, with confidence engaging business leaders and senior management.
• Experience with project governance, reporting, RAID management, change control and steering committee presentations.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.
• Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with strong presentation, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive consulting mindset, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and drive project outcomes.
• Collaborative and entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to work across Australia, APAC and global teams.
• A degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
• Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship is required, along with willingness to travel as required.
