Job summary

Elliott Moss Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to lead end-to-end implementations, migrations, and transformations. You will manage project plans, budgets, risks, and stakeholder engagement across Finance, Procurement, Sales, and other S/4HANA modules.

The role requires strong governance, cross-functional coordination, data migration planning, and a smooth transition to AMS post go-live. Sydney/Melbourne location preferred.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, rollout, and transformation projects. The role will be responsible for project planning, delivery governance, stakeholder management, financial control, risk management, and coordination across functional, technical, integration, data, testing, and change-management workstreams.

The Project Manager will serve as the primary delivery interface between the customer, technology partners, vendors, and internal project teams, ensuring successful delivery within agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, conversion, migration, rollout, and transformation projects.
• Develop and manage project plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, resources, and critical-path activities.
• Manage SAP projects using the SAP Activate methodology across Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run phases.
• Coordinate multiple functional workstreams including Finance, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, Asset Management, and other relevant S/4HANA modules.
• Coordinate technical workstreams covering ABAP, Fiori, SAP BTP, integrations, security, data migration, testing, infrastructure, and cutover.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, effort, resource utilization, and financial performance.
• Establish project governance through SteerCo meetings, PMO reviews, status reporting, RAID management, and escalation processes.
• Identify, monitor, and manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and key project decisions.
• Manage senior customer stakeholders, business and IT leadership, process owners, key users, vendors, and technology partners.
• Facilitate requirements and design workshops and ensure timely completion and sign-off of key deliverables.
• Coordinate SIT, UAT, regression, performance testing, defect resolution, and overall test readiness.
• Lead data migration planning, mock migrations/conversions, reconciliation, and production migration readiness.
• Develop and manage the overall cutover and go-live plan, including readiness assessments, command-centre activities, and hypercare.
• Evaluate and manage change requests, including their impact on scope, schedule, resources, risks, and commercial commitments.
• Ensure compliance with project methodology, quality standards, governance processes, and documentation requirements.
• Work closely with Solution Architects and functional/technical leads to ensure alignment between project delivery and overall solution architecture.
• Manage third-party vendors, implementation partners, and integration providers where applicable.
• Drive recovery and corrective-action plans when project timelines, quality, or delivery objectives are at risk.
• Provide clear and timely executive-level reporting and proactively elevate critical matters.
• Support transition from project delivery to AMS/support teams following go-live and stabilization.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of SAP experience, with significant experience managing SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Proven experience as an SAP Project Manager managing at least one end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation.
• Strong understanding of the SAP S/4HANA implementation lifecycle and SAP Activate methodology.
• Experience managing medium-to-large, multi-workstream SAP programs involving functional and technical teams.
• Good understanding of SAP functional, technical, integration, data migration, testing, security, cutover, and infrastructure activities.
• Strong experience in project governance, planning, RAID management, dependency management, risk management, and change control.
• Experience managing project budgets, resources, timelines, and commercial commitments.
• Experience working with senior business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience managing onshore/offshore delivery teams and multiple vendors.
• Proven experience managing go-live, hypercare, stabilization, and transition to support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, RISE with SAP, and/or S/4HANA on-premise implementations.
• Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud, or other SAP cloud solutions.
• Experience managing ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation or migration programs.
• Exposure to Greenfield, Brownfield, or Selective Data Transition approaches.
• SAP Activate, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is advantageous.
