Job summary

The Network Technology Recruitment is seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to drive the data migration workstream for a large SAP ERP deployment. You will own strategy, execution, and cutover in a fast-paced transformation program.

Hybrid role, 3 days per week in the Sydney office, leading a small team of migration specialists and coordinating with SAP FI/CO, MM, SD functional areas to ensure clean, validated data lands in the new system.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the data migration strategy, approach, and roadmap for the SAP ERP program.
• Manage full ETL lifecycle: extraction, cleansing, transformation, and load.
• Develop and maintain data mapping, migration rules, and reconciliation processes.
• Lead data quality assessments and remediation activities with business data owners.
• Coordinate mock loads, dress rehearsals, and cutover data loads.
• Manage data migration testing, defect resolution, and sign-off with functional and technical teams.
• Partner with SAP functional consultants (FI/CO, MM, SD, etc.) to align migration objects with business processes.
• Report on migration progress, risks, and issues to program leadership.
• Lead and mentor a small team of data analysts/migration specialists.

About the Role

This is a contract engagement, working hybrid 3 days per week in the office. You'll own the data migration workstream end to end, from strategy through to cutover, ensuring clean, complete, and validated data lands in the new SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the data migration strategy, approach, and roadmap for the SAP ERP program
• Manage the full ETL lifecycle: extraction, cleansing, transformation, and load across legacy and target systems
• Develop and maintain data mapping, migration rules, and reconciliation processes
• Lead data quality assessments and remediation activities in partnership with business data owners
• Coordinate mock loads, dress rehearsals, and cutover data loads
• Manage data migration testing, defect resolution, and sign-off with functional and technical teams
• Partner with SAP functional consultants (FI/CO, MM, SD, etc.) to align migration objects with business processes
• Report on migration progress, risks, and issues to program leadership
• Lead and mentor a small team of data analysts/migration specialists

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading data migration on at least one large-scale SAP ERP implementation (S/4HANA preferred)
• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP data migration tools (e.g. SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW, LTMC, BODS, or similar ETL tools)
• Solid understanding of SAP data objects across core modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, etc.)
• Experience with data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation at scale
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging both technical and business audiences
• Experience working within structured program/project delivery frameworks
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for non-technical stakeholders
