Job summary

Intertek in Sydney is seeking an experienced Sampler/Gauger/Inspector to join our Caleb Brett team in Sydney on a fulltime, permanent basis. This role involves conducting cargo, marine, petroleum and chemical inspections across sea-going and bulk cargo vessels.

The position requires strong MS Office skills, excellent communication and teamwork, and the ability to work independently. You will prepare detailed reports, liaise with clients and vessel staff, and support terminal operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform cargo, marine, petroleum and chemical inspections, as well as grain surveys on sea-going and bulk cargo vessels.
• Sample and gauge shore tanks at terminals.
• Prepare detailed reports and invoices for clients.
• Liaise with clients, shipping agents and vessel staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Support terminal and wharf duties as needed.

As a Marine Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting a range of surveys and inspections related to cargo, marine, petroleum, chemical, grain on sea-going and bulk cargo vessels.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing Cargo, Marine, Petroleum, Chemical, Road tanker inspections and Grain surveys and inspections.
• Sampling and gauging shore tanks at various Terminals.
• Preparing detailed reports and invoices.
• Liaising with clients, shipping agents, and vessel staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Contributing to general office functions, ensuring accurate reporting and timely analysis of results.
• Providing support for terminal and wharf duties as needed.
• The role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card.
• Experience with oil, fuel and LPG tankers, dry cargo, and marine inspections is beneficial.
