Job summary

Team Global Express is seeking a Same Day Operations Supervisor for our Melbourne team to oversee weekend and public holiday operations, ensuring Premium Services freight is coordinated safely, efficiently and on time.

You will provide day-to-day leadership to the operations team, coordinate urgent freight movements from booking to delivery, manage workloads, respond to delays, and maintain high service levels for customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, freight or operational supervision
• Experience leading or supervising a team in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong understanding of dispatch, freight movements and customer service
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to make decisions and manage operational issues independently
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure
• Good computer skills and ability to learn operational systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A hands-on approach and willingness to support the team when required

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day Same Day operations
• Lead and support the operations team to ensure daily service requirements are achieved
• Oversee Premium Services freight, including Same Day (Next Flight), Time Sensitive and H2H consignments
• Coordinate and monitor urgent freight movements from booking through to delivery
• Manage daily workloads and ensure jobs are allocated appropriately
• Monitor operational performance and respond quickly to delays or service issues
• Manage customer and operational escalations and work with the team to resolve issues
• Ensure customers receive timely and accurate updates regarding their freight
• Liaise with drivers and other operational teams to ensure service expectations are met
• Ensure Proof of Delivery and other required documentation is completed accurately
• Support the team with quotes, bookings and customer enquiries when required
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure operational procedures are followed
• Build positive working relationships with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders
