Job description

aXcelerate is a leading Australian SaaS company transforming the way organisations develop skills, manage learning, and build workforce capability. Our integrated platform combines a powerful Student Management System (SMS), Learning Management System (LMS), and Skills, our workforce competency management solution, to help training providers, enterprises, and government organisations simplify compliance, streamline operations, and develop confident, capable workforces.

Trusted by over 1,300 organisations and powering more than 2.8 million learners, we’re redefining how learning and workforce capability are managed across Australia as we expand our impact internationally.

Recognised as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, we’re proud to foster a culture where our people are empowered to innovate, collaborate and grow. We believe our success comes from creating an environment where ideas are valued, curiosity is encouraged, and every individual has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

As we continue our exciting growth journey, there’s never been a better time to join a team that’s shaping the future of education technology. Whether your passion lies in technology, customer success, sales, marketing, product, or corporate services, you’ll find opportunities to grow your career, work alongside talented people, and help create solutions that make a real difference.

The Role

In this role as Sales Executive you will play a pivot part of our wider team in driving new business and grow aXcelerate’s presence in the market. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to prospective clients: getting under the skin of their challenges, matching them with the right solution, and delivering outcomes that make commercial sense for everyone.

This is a role for someone who is proactive about building their own pipeline, commercially sharp, and comfortable working autonomously, while still being a genuine team player.

What you’ll be doing
  • Identifying, qualifying and converting new business to hit individual and team revenue targets
  • Generating your own leads through outreach, networking, events and referrals, and working alongside Marketing on campaigns
  • Running discovery conversations that uncover what prospects really need, then delivering tailored demos and value-based proposals
  • Negotiating commercial terms and closing new business agreements
  • Keeping your CRM accurate and your pipeline healthy, with reliable forecasting and reporting
  • Using AI tools, sales enablement tech and data insights to sharpen your research, personalise outreach and prioritise your pipeline
  • Staying across our products, roadmap, competitors and trends in the VET and learning technology space, and feeding market insights back to Product and Marketing
  • Partnering with Professional Services and Customer Success to make sure every new client has a smooth handover into implementation
  • Helping shape how our sales function evolves, including spotting opportunities for automation and smarter ways of working
What we’re looking for
  • 3–5 years’ experience in sales, business development or account management, ideally in SaaS or technology
  • A proven track record managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to close
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Experience with CRM and sales enablement tools, plus familiarity with AI tools (or a genuine willingness to learn)
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage stakeholders at every level
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple opportunities at once without dropping the ball
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing or a related field (preferred)
  • Alignment with our HEART values and a desire to contribute to a positive, high-performing team

Experience in the VET, education or learning technology sectors will be highly regarded, but isn’t essential if you can show us you’re a quick learner.

What we offer
  • A central location, close to public transport, cafes and shops, with free on-site parking available.
  • A vibrant, supportive and team-oriented culture, with regular team activities and social events.
  • Opportunities for flexible and hybrid working.
  • A focus on professional development and learning, with access to our LMS, external and internal training opportunities and your own personal annual PD budget
  • Access for you and your family to an Employee Assistance Program and resources.
  • Cash back offers and discounts on popular brands through our Employment Hero app.
  • Opportunities for career development with well defined career pathways across the business.
  • Proud members of Women in Technology with access to networking events, professional development opportunities and resources.
