Job summary

Oak Living is seeking an experienced Sales Estimator for a part-time role in Melbourne. You will prepare accurate estimates for bespoke, architecturally designed homes with premium finishes and detailed inclusions, and price client variations and upgrades.

You will review plans, run QA checks, and collaborate with design, construction, and sales teams to keep projects moving. Flexibility and strong communication are essential for this near-custom, luxury-focused role.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a sales estimating role, ideally within custom or luxury residential building.
• A genuine eye for detail — you notice the finish, the junction, the thing that's easy to miss.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and costs at a premium level.
• Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code, ResCode, and Victorian building requirements.
• Confidence reading and interpreting architectural drawings, engineering plans, and supporting documentation.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
• Comfortable managing your own time and workload to make part-time hours genuinely effective.
• A collaborative mindset and genuine willingness to contribute to a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, engineering, and supporting documentation to ensure estimates reflect what's actually being built.
• Run quality assurance checks across all estimating documentation before it goes out.
• Liaise with design, construction, and sales teams to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Support clients and internal teams with technical and pricing queries in plain language they can actually use.

Oak Living builds bespoke homes across South East Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, shaped around the way our clients actually want to live. We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced Sales Estimator to join us on a part-time basis.

This isn't a volume-builder role. Every estimate you produce sits behind a custom design, a luxury finish, or a client who's invested real thought into how their home should work. We know great estimators don't always want five full days a week, and we'd rather build a role around the right person.
