Job summary

Goodwill Central Texas is opening a brand-new store in Lockhart, Texas, and we’re hiring Sales Associates to help launch the team. You will greet customers, assist donors, keep the floor welcoming, and share product knowledge to enhance the shopping experience.

We offer training before opening, full-time and part-time roles, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, parental leave, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication and listening abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stay active on the sales floor.
• Experience operating a register is a plus, but training is provided.

A brand-new Goodwill store is coming to Lockhart, Texas, and we're building our team now!

As a Sales Associate, you'll be part of the team helping bring our new store to life. You'll welcome customers, support donors, keep the sales floor looking great, and help create a positive shopping experience, all while supporting Goodwill's mission of transforming lives through the power of education and work.

TRAIN WITH US BEFORE WE OPEN!

New hires will train at our San Marcos Goodwill location while we prepare for the Lockhart store opening. This gives you the opportunity to learn our processes, build your skills, and get to know your team before opening day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Welcome every customer with warmth and professionalism, in the store, outside, or over the phone
• Accurately and efficiently process purchases at the register
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and stocked
• Answer customer questions and share product knowledge
• Assist donors at donation drop‑off and provide receipts
• Maintain fitting rooms and overall store appearance
• Follow store safety and security procedures
• Promote Goodwill's mission and support checkout donation efforts
• Jump in and help wherever needed to keep the store running smoothly

WHAT YOU BRING

• A positive attitude and commitment to great customer service
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically active environment and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to operate a register and follow directions
• Retail experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person!
