Job summary

Porter’s Paints in Alexandria, NSW is seeking an people-focused showroom assistant to advise customers, grow sales through a boutique experience, and provide expert colour guidance.

You will handle stock, tint paints, ensure housekeeping and cash reconciliations, and contribute to a flexible, inclusive workplace with ongoing product training.

Part-time and casual roles available, Monday to Friday with some Saturdays; must be physically able to lift up to 25 kg.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Experience in colour or design industry preferred.
• Physical ability to lift paint tins up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product selection and advice.
• Stock control and showroom housekeeping.
• Tinting paints and cash reconciliations.
• Work available Monday to Friday; Saturdays optional.

This autonomous role will report into a supportive and knowledgeable Showroom Managers and be responsible for growing sales through offering a tailored boutique experience and expert advice.

Additional accountabilities include stock control, tinting of paints, general housekeeping and cash reconciliations.

What You’ll Be Doing

To be successful at Porter’s you will understand the importance of colour in design and have a natural flair for creativity.You will have a passion for developing your career within technical sales and be motivated by providing exceptional customer service.Ideally you can demonstrate:

• Colour and design experience ideally within the painting or interior design industries.
• Proven track record in retail sales and exceeding Customer’s expectations.
• Availability to work every second Saturdays
• Physically fit with manual handling ability

What We’re Looking for

You enjoy working with people, have great communication skills and are passionate about helping others. We do require you to regularly lift paint tins that weigh up to 25kgs so being physically fit is essential.

We will provide product and on the job training, so we are looking for people that are willing to learn, develop and provide excellent service to our passionate customer base.
