Job summary

Liverpool Plains Shire Council is seeking a Safety and Wellbeing Specialist to join the People and Performance team. You will strengthen Council’s work health and safety, injury management, return to work and employee wellbeing across the organisation, providing practical advice and building capability.

You will coordinate and improve the Work Health and Safety Management System, oversee inspections, investigations and audits, and support safe, sustainable recovery at work through return-to-work

Qualifications

• Experience delivering work health and safety programs.
• Ability to advise leaders and employees on safety practices.
• Demonstrated capability in injury management and return-to-work processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and continuously improve the Work Health and Safety Management System.
• Oversee inspections, investigations and audits; manage hazards and corrective actions.
• Support injury management and return-to-work plans; coordinate with insurer and health professionals.
• Analyze incident and claims trends; coordinate safety education and training.
• Support the Health and Safety Committee and address psychosocial hazards.
