Job summary

Warrnambool City Council is seeking a proactive Safety & Risk Coordinator to lead our Safety and Risk Unit and help shape a safer, healthier and more resilient organisation. With around 800 employees delivering a diverse range of services to the Warrnambool community, you’ll turn safety and risk principles into practical outcomes, across frontline teams to senior leaders.

This is a role with variety and real impact; you’ll lead initiatives, coordinate health and safety and injury management

Qualifications

• Experience as a safety and risk professional.
• Ability to lead a Safety and Risk Unit.
• Ability to build relationships and provide practical solutions.
• Knowledge of health and safety and injury management systems.
• Ability to influence safety culture across a diverse workforce.

• Lead the Safety and Risk Unit within Council's Organisation Development Branch.
• Coordinate Council's approach to health and safety and injury management systems.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Council's risk framework.
• Provide trusted advice and guidance to leaders and employees across the organisation.
• Ensure Council's health and safety practices meet legislative requirements.
• Influence organisational systems and policy while remaining connected to operational teams.

Warrnambool City Council is looking for a proactive and people focused Safety & Risk Coordinator to lead our Safety and Risk Unit and help shape a safer, healthier and more resilient organisation.

With around 800 employees delivering a diverse range of services to the Warrnambool community, this is a role where your expertise will have genuine impact. You’ll work with people across the organisation from frontline teams through to senior leaders helping turn safety and risk principles into practical outcomes.

The Benefits

This is a permanent full time role. The current base salary is $105,206.60 per annum (pro rata) exclusive of superannuation.
