Job summary

Broken Hill City Council is seeking a motivated Enterprise Risk Coordinator to join the Enterprise Risk and Workplace Health & Safety team. You will support development, coordination, monitoring and continuous improvement of Council’s ERM framework and WHS management systems.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, insurance, governance, compliance and WHS, with strong analytical capability and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and maintaining Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, risk registers, and governance reporting processes.
  • Supporting management of the Council’s insurance portfolio, including claims coordination, renewals, and risk improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinating policy development, reviews, and governance documentation.
  • Maintaining delegated systems, databases, and registers to ensure accurate and timely risk information.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organisational resilience, compliance, and service delivery.
  • Providing trusted advice and customer-focused support to internal stakeholders across the Council.

Broken Hill City Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Enterprise Risk Coordinator to join our Enterprise Risk and Workplace Health & Safety team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and maturity of Council’s risk management capability while supporting a positive, proactive risk culture across the organisation.

Reporting to the Manager Enterprise Risk, this position plays a key role in the ongoing development, coordination, monitoring and continuous improvement of Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM) and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Management systems.

Job Description
You will support a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, including:
  • Coordinating and maintaining Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, risk registers, and governance reporting processes.
  • Supporting the management of the Council’s insurance portfolio, including claims coordination, renewals, and risk improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinating policy development, reviews, and governance documentation.
  • Maintaining delegated systems, databases, and registers to ensure accurate and timely risk information.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organisational resilience, compliance, and service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, insurance, governance, compliance, WHS, or a related discipline, supported by strong analytical capability and a commitment to continuous improvement.
